July 5 Edify Devotional

Today’s Devotional Theme
Our Healer

Daily Scripture
Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”

Encouragement
I believe that we hear of more people being healed in other countries because they have child-like faith, and because they don't have any other resources to distract them from Jesus Christ as their source. When my 3-year-old granddaughter gets an injury, or sees someone else with one, she simply says "it's okay, Jesus will heal it." It is important that we rely only on Christ first as our Healer. (This doesn't mean don't seek medical help, because doctors have God given gifts to aid with healing. Even my granddaughter will seek mommy or daddy for comfort and to make it better.) With faith like a child, and pushing all other things aside, go to the Lord who created us perfectly in our mothers' wombs and bore the stripes on His back for our healing. Our faith in Him and what He has done is the key to receiving the healing that we need. (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:22, “Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.”)

Take Action!
So, what can you do to be the hands and feet of The Healer? Pray and listen intently for his voice to speak to you as you wait. Give a hug or an encouraging word to someone. Be His voice that says, “Peace. You don't have to fear.” God brings us peace in the middle of the storm, so realize that no matter what, God is still God. The naturally supernatural presence of God is with you at all times. In a time of crisis in our lives, when it seems that there is no where else to turn, come close to Jesus. Expect that God hears your prayers and that He wants to bring you peace, wipe away your tears, and bring healing and restoration to your body. Believe that He can and He will take care of you if you will trust Him and lean on Him. When you are weak He is strong, and He loves you!

Come into His Presence
Father God, thank You that You have sent Your Son to show us the mighty healing power that You possess. Not only did He perform miracles during His lifetime so that we may believe in You, He also suffered and died that we may be free from the sickness of this world. Help us to know that You are with us in our time of need, and to understand that You have control of every situation. As we pray for healing we also want Your will to be done. Show us the way, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
