I Am Sanctified!
Daily Scripture
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
Encouragement
SANCTIFIED = to make holy, to set aside as sacred, to purify or free from sin.
Once we have excepted Christ as our savior, and we are baptized, we have been born again into a new "spiritual life." God gives us His Holy Spirit to live within us, which aids us in being holy from the inside out. We are sanctified and set aside, chosen by God to be His own, and through salvation we are made righteous! (Philippians 3:9 “and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.”) We have been saved to have a relationship with God; to live for Him now, and be with Him for eternity! We are sanctified so that our life on earth is a reflection of the holiness of God. We have His purified blood running through our veins. He has given us His authority by His holiness working through us to impact the things and people of this world. We shine His light from within us into dark places, and we can speak life through Christ into situations that surround us. We are being transformed into His likeness for our own sake, and also as an example (a revelation) to other people of who our Savior is.
Apply God’s Word
The will of God is for us to become sanctified by our faith in Christ. Our purpose in life is the same as Jesus'. By Jesus' examples of righteous living we were created to have the same impact HERE and NOW! We are disciples of God, doing His will, spreading the "good news" of the gospel, saving people from the tortures of the devil, adding them to the armies of God, and bringing them home to God for eternity! It is a big responsibility, a large task, but the most important one you will ever do! (Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”)
Come into His Presence
Lord, we are thankful that You have given us a way to be sanctified in order to be an instrument for Your glory. Only by Your grace, and by our belief and faith in Your Son, Jesus, can this be possible. We humbly ask that You help us to continue to be righteous in Your sight, to be who You created us to be, and to do Your will. All for YOUR GLORY, God! In Jesus' name. Amen.
