Psalms 85:10-13
“Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.”
Encouragement
My heart longs to see the days when The Church is so united that laughter happens between the people more than discussions over doctrine. My heart longs to see mercy, truth, righteousness, and peace all crash together in a collision of revival! Repentance is a good thing. Yes, it can hurt—deeply—but it is a good pain. Pruning hurts but it has a purpose… MORE FRUIT! Here in these 4 verses of Psalm 85 we read what happens when true humility before an Awesome God happens. When true repentance and crying out to God happens, truth springs up from the earth and righteousness shines down from Heaven… and our land is healed.
Take Action!
I remember some time ago hearing that a revival broke out in another country. This revival brought such healing that even the very land was healed and the vegetables grew much larger than usual crops! Verse 13 is intriguing to me: “Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.” When we repent, turn to God, cry out for His restoration, turn from our wicked ways and commit to His righteousness, what happens? His righteousness will go before Him and His righteous footsteps become the pathway for us as individuals, The Church, and as a nation to walk upon once again. Let us turn back to God in all things!
Come into His Presence
Heavenly Father, I repent for turning my back to You at any time for anything. Please forgive me for not trusting You. Please forgive me for turning away from Your righteousness and trying to depend on my own strength to survive. I need You, Father. Make Your righteousness my pathway again. And please heal our nation and call us to turn back to You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
