Isaiah 53:4-5
“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Encouragement
It was the fall of man that robed all humanity of any true and lasting peace. But Isaiah broke into the scene with his prophetic encouragement from our text. He begins with a picture of our Redeemer taking upon himself all of our sorrows. This alone provides overwhelming evidence of His intent to restore our peace.
Take Action!
Sorrow is grief, distress, regrets, troubles and disappointments. But, with all that we are faced with remember Jesus took our grief, distress, regrets, troubles and disappointments to the cross where He bought our peace back.
Come into His Presence
Father, help me to see everything around me as You do. Help me today to exchange the stresses of life for the inner peace that You bought and paid for. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
